Memory and materiality studies aim to get at collective notions of the past by approaching objects, structures, and landscapes as nodes of social memory pregnant with overlapping human interpretations. This website provides an overview of the topic, discussing the work of foundational and more recent theorists as well asby reviewing archaeological case studies.
